Life is Service
Photography Exhibition by Jordan Abdur-Ra’oof
Truist Gallery| February 21 - April 6, 2025
Artist Statement:
I initially bought a camera to help share stories. At some point along the way, I became obsessed with making ‘good’ photos and focused less on the narratives behind those images. Although I was never lost, this ‘Life is Service’ photo series is a homecoming of sorts, I am back - doing what I love, using photography as a tool to share beautiful stories about the people who make our communities, communities.
The Life is Service Photo Series aims to foster a deeper sense of connection and appreciation by humanizing the hospitality sector and highlighting the individuals behind the places we gather. Through this series, I invite viewers to pause, reflect, and engage with the humanity that underpins the businesses we frequent and the place we call home.
