Meet the Panelists

Gail Belvett (she/her) is a graduate of the UNC Adams School of Dentistry, Gail founded The Art Chose Me in 2020. The Art Chose Me seeks to eliminate the obstacles that limit access to and appreciation of the visual arts, especially engaging marginalized communities.

Gail provides curatorial services to value-aligned artists and institutions.

Brittany (she/her) is a visionary professional bridging the worlds of art and technology with over 8 years of experience in the creative agency and marketing industries. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree with High Distinction in New Media from UNC Asheville. Her recent passion for generative AI, coupled with her interest in latent diffusion models, has driven her to acquire industry-recognized credentials in Artificial Intelligence Fundamentals from IBM and Charles Stuart University respectively. Notably, her AI expertise has garnered attention from Hollywood Executive Producers, leading her to serve as an AI design and product testing consultant for a California-based tech start-up.

Brittany is a dedicated trailblazer at the forefront of exploring AI's transformative potential in the art and technology sectors, poised to shape the future of content production and revolutionary effects on the way we currently think about and create art and new media.

Alyssa Cuffie (she/her) is an artist and curator from Milwaukee, WI based in Durham, North Carolina. She is the daughter of Celeste. Who is the daughter of Augustene. Who is the daughter of Clemontee. While working full time in tech as a project manager, Alyssa is also an active participant in the local arts community. Recent experiences of note include her work as the First Friday curator for Glow Fitness and VAE Raleigh’s first Collaborative Curatorial Fellow in 2022. While there, Alyssa curated an art exhibition and series of events titled “Creating a Home, Not an Empire” about the black family home and the characters you’ll find within it.

She’s also continued to work with other arts organizations as a juror, mentor, assistant director, and board member. As a rising curator in Raleigh, she seeks to activate unexpected spaces through art and community events. When not following up with developers at work or reaching out to vendors for an event, you can find Alyssa tending to her plants and trying new air fryer recipes.

Matto – Shinkai (he/him) is a Buddhist multidisciplinary artist. He earned a BS in Applied Sciences and an MFA in Film and Animation from Rochester Institute of Technology.

His ‘Zenerative’ series of projects, released on Art Blocks and Plottables, explore on-chain, Zen-inspired generative art. He releases other, experimental crypto-art through his smart contracts and custom platform, Substratum.

He is an advocate for compassionate living, LGBTQ rights, equality for all, and environmental protection. Matto – Shinkai lives in North Carolina with his two partners and their dogs.
