Perks: “Support Local Artists” vinyl sticker + e-newsletters (be the first to know about upcoming exhibits, events and opportunities) + 10% off art purchases from our exhibit venues (up to $500 total savings per year)

Spark creativity in our community! For example, this donation can cover a membership scholarship for one local artist to engage with DAG’s resources and opportunities.

CREATIVE FLOW | $10/mo

In a major groove mastering creations!

$10 per month or $120 total

Perks: “Support Local Artists” sticker + “Support Local Artists” car/fridge magnet + e-newsletters + 10% off art purchases

Get creative practices flowing in our community! For example, this donation can cover the stipend for a professional presenter to share knowledge during a professional development event at DAG (keeping the cost free or nominal for artists to attend!).

CREATIVE CONNECTION | $25/mo

Engaging masterpieces with the world!

$25 per month or $300 total

Perks: sticker + magnet + e-newsletters + 10% off art purchases + 2 free tickets to Swing Into Spring (DAG’s largest and most fun event of the year!)

Create artistic connections in our community! For example, this donation can cover a supply budget for one student-mentor pair in the Creative Mentorship Program so they can create and grow together and then display their final projects.

CREATIVE ADVANCEMENT | $50/mo

Entering an exciting new phase of creative practice!

$50 per month or $600 total

Perks: sticker + magnet +  e-newsletters + 15% off art purchases + 2 free tickets to Swing Into Spring + complimentary coffee or tea with Executive Director Katie Seiz.

Advance the careers of local artists in our community! For example, this donation can cover the overhead for one Artist in Residence Program studio space for six months (free for the artist!).

The Durham Art Guild relies on individual and corporate donations, grants and fundraising events to support our annual operations and to fulfill our mission each year. We are also able to accept donations of stock if that is something that you are interested in coordinating with us. When you donate long-term publicly traded stock to DAG, you’ll generally take a tax deduction for the full fair market value. Please consult your advisor about how the tax rules apply to your contribution.

PROGRAM SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

The Durham Art Guild facilitates two core arts programs that we fundraise for annually in order to provide. Individuals or businesses can directly support these programs at various giving levels or through a donation in any amount. Feel free to reach out to learn more or talk more about the impact and needs of these ongoing programs.

CREATIVE MENTORSHIP PROGRAM

The annual Creative Mentorship Program is a partnership between DAG and Student U. Together, our organizations connect high school students in Durham Public Schools with artist mentors from DAG. Students discover and develop their creative voices and artistic skills through 20 weeks of one-on-one dedicated work with a professional artist, involvement with the local arts community through monthly field trips, and a culminating exhibition of their projects.

This program typically costs DAG just over $20,000 each year. For 2021, we need to raise $14,000 for a reduced program size and all online version for safety during the pandemic.

ARTIST IN RESIDENCE PROGRAM

The annual Artist in Residence Program provides free professional studio space at the DAG Gallery + Studios at Golden Belt Campus for 6 months, a $1,000 stipend, regular support from and access to DAG’s professional resources and networks, and an exhibition at the DAG Gallery at Golden Belt for two selected local artists. This program is the longest running of only 3 visual arts residency programs that exist in Durham. The other two have the space and resources of Duke University.

This program typically costs DAG $6,000 each year.
