Surviving the Burn @ Golden Belt

The Durham Art Guild presents “Surviving the Burn” featuring new works by DAG’s 2021 Artist in Residence Derrick Beasley.

Derrick’s work is largely a meditation on possibilities of living in community with people (particularly Black people) and the environment. His work is an invitation to be in conversation around what is possible and aims to catalyze engagement in new practices that bring about a liberated and sustainable future.

This exhibition is on view at the DAG Gallery at Golden Belt Campus from January 10 – February 2, 2022 (NOW EXTENDED THROUGH Feb. 27th!).

Join us for a public reception with the artist during 3rd Friday Durham on January 21, 2022 from 6-9pm.

“The last several months have been a time of hibernation and creative discovery for me. My time in residence has been focused on unearthing themes and materials to articulate these discoveries.”
