The Durham Art Guild presents “Girlhood Summer” featuring new works by DAG member artist Jasmine Best. “I reconstruct the racial, southern, and domestic upbringing I, and past generations of women in my family have had, and place it in a new context. Advocating for discussion about the psychological and physical fight against misogynoir black femmes are constantly in both outside of and within their own communities.” This exhibition is on view at the DAG Gallery at Golden Belt Campus from June 30 – July 26, 2021. Join us for a public reception with the artist during 3rd Friday Durham on July 16 from 6-9pm.
