Black Respite @ Golden Belt

The Durham Art Guild presents “Black Respite” featuring works by DAG member Samantha Everette. Black Respite is a repose from Whiteness and the unrelenting trauma of systemic oppression. From 2018-2019 I had luxury and privilege to travel throughout the African Diaspora. I spent every day celebrating my Blackness and learning more about myself and my people. This collection of photos is a small glimpse into my Black
Respite.

This exhibition is on view at the DAG Gallery at Golden Belt Campus April 9 – May 5, 2021.
