The Durham Art Guild presents the 65th Annual Juried Exhibition. This is the Guild’s longest-running, largest, and most impressive annual exhibition featuring the work of 48 regional artists working in a variety of mediums and styles.
This exhibition is on view in SunTrust Gallery from August 16 – October 12, 2019.
This year’s artwork is selected by Emily Stamey, Curator of Exhibitions, Weatherspoon Art Museum at the University of North Carolina, Greensboro.

About the Juror:
Dr. Emily Stamey is Curator of Exhibitions at the Weatherspoon Art Museum at the University of North Carolina, Greensboro. Her most recent projects include Dread & Delight: Fairy Tales in an Anxious World and solo exhibitions of work by Sanford Biggers, Danica Phelps, and Hank Willis Thomas. She is currently preparing To the Hoop: Basketball and Contemporary Art, which opens in February. Stamey has held curatorial positions at the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art in Arizona and the Ulrich Museum of Art at Wichita State University in Kansas. Her research focuses on the social histories of modern and contemporary art in the United States. She holds an MA and PhD in art history from the University of Kansas and a BA in art history from Grinnell College in Iowa.
