2018 Swing into Spring Celebration Fundraiser
 
The Durham Art Guild seeks artwork donations from its valued network of talented members and other community artists for our upcoming celebration fundraiser. This year's Swing into Spring artwork will be on view in SunTrust Gallery March 16 – March 30 leading up to the event.
 

4 donating artists will be selected as featured artists by our guest judge Nell Fortune-Greeley, Museum Manager at 21c Museum Hotel in Durham. Our 4 featured artists will each receive a special package including artist-centric goodies and DAG perks. All donating artists will be entered in a drawing to win other artist-centric goodies and DAG perks.  All donating artists also receive a thank-you goodie bag upon delivery of the donation and a free ticket to Swing into Spring.
 
IMPORTANT DATES:
- March 11 and 12 from 1:30-3:30pm: Donation Drop-off
- March 16 – March 30: Exhibition Dates
- March 16 6-8pm: Artist Appreciation Preview Party and Third Friday Reception
- March 30 from 6:30-10pm: Swing into Spring Celebration Fundraiser
 
Please consider donating one original work of art or handmade item valued up to $750 to this very important DAG event. Diptychs and sets will be accepted if they are clearly cohesive and collectively valued up to $750. Read more below for all the great incentives to donate.

-Swing into Spring is THE major annual fundraiser for the Durham Art Guild and a big part of how DAG is able to connect artists to the community and our community to the arts. By donating to Swing into Spring, you are making a difference within OUR organization to help bring in about 20% of DAG’s annual operating costs that go directly back to providing creative enrichment opportunities for you!
 
-In 2017, DAG put $37,000 in the wallets of local artists through program stipends, awards and art sale commissions. This amount increases each year as we strengthen our efforts.
 
-In 2017, DAG showcased 20+ exhibits across 4 venues featuring 300+ regional artists. We also hosted just over 50 arts-related programs and events including receptions, lectures, community building mixers, professional development workshops, Creative Mentorship Program and Artist in Residence Program.
 
-In 2018 we are expanding our Art@Work Program to cultivate new partnerships that will provide more mutually beneficial connections between local artist and local businesses. 100% commission to artists or leasing fee to the artists. A call for art to populate a database for Art@Work art/artists is coming soon.
 
Get featured!
 
-Your work will be seen and potentially purchased by local art lovers, collectors, arts professionals and all of our gallery and event guests throughout the exhibit showcase and gala evening.  
Your name and website will be listed in the fundraiser program and also in an e-newsletter leading up to the event.
 
-We will showcase your headshot and a brief artist statement/artist bio and also provide a space for your business cards near your donation in the exhibit in advance of the event and at the event.
An image of your work might be showcased via the DAG website, email communications or social media outlets advertising the event.
 
-4 donating artists will be selected as featured artists. These artists each receive a special package including artist-centric goods and DAG perks. The 4 featured artists will also receive additional recognition in the event program and leading up to the event through various marketing efforts.
 
An exhibition, a drawing and two parties!
 
-An Artist Appreciation Preview Party reception will be held on March 16th during Third Friday Durham to celebrate YOU, your talents and generosity. Stay tuned for more info on our fun marketing efforts planned for that night where you could be featured!
 
-All donating artists will be entered in a drawing to potentially win a fun mix of artist-centric goodies and DAG perks like DAG memberships, DAG submission fee waivers, art supplies and more!
 
-You can party and network at the celebration on March 30 for FREE. Each donating artist can attend the celebration compliments of DAG with advance registration. Admission includes a voucher for one free drink during the event.
