Dear Members, We are happy to announce that the information regarding the Durham Art Guild's Artist Member Residency Program is now available! Deadline for Entries: August 4, 2008 This program provides members of DAG with a rent-free studio to further develop their artistic pursuits. Applicants must have been an active member of DAG since August 2007. Click here for further details.
The Durham Art Guild has identified dates for monthly peer review sessions - Looking for Member Moderators for sessions Starting in the 08-09 season, DAG will offer a series of open forum dialog sessions so that members can discuss their work with other members and gain constructive feedback about their work. As any artist knows, having the opportunity for this type of dialog is invaluable for an artist's growth. These informal discussion sessions will be held the last Wednesday of each month (except December 08) from 6:30 - 8:30 pm within the CCB Gallery. We are looking for several moderators to help with the sessions. If interested attending or becoming a moderator, please contact Jennifer Collins, Director at artguild1@yahoo.com.
DAG's Annual Members' Show Prospectus Now Available! Hardcopies of the prospectus will be available at DAG's CCB Gallery after June 7, 2008. "See Your Name in Lights!" - DAG's Spot Light Sponsor Program If you been by to see DAG's current exhibit featuring the ceramics of the late Sally Bowen Prange Wainwright, you know how important lighting is to make an exhibit have a lasting impression. In order to help with the cost of purchasing new lighting equipment, we have implemented the Spot Light Sponsor Program. For only $75 you can underwrite one gallery light and have your name featured in the gallery for one year. We also have additional sponsorship levels that fit various needs. DAG's On-line Gallery now features six images of member's work All artists are invited to become part of our growing on-line registry. Each artist can feature up to six images of their work along with contact information including their email and web site link. Send jpegs at 72 dpi, no larger than 350 pixels in either direction to artguild1@yahoo.com. Include your studio location, medium and subject matter.
Now offering portfolio reviews Jennifer Collins, the Director, will be reviewing portfolios the third Tuesday of each month, by appointment. This service is offered in response to those wishing to strengthen submissions to shows and galleries. If interested, please call 560-2713.
